EMS Airflow Prophylaxis Master changes the way teeth are cleaned during a professional appointment.
Sensitivity during cleaning is often caused by ultrasonic scaling and cold water. With Airflow technology, the water can be heated up to 40 degrees Celsius, reducing the sensitivity some patients experience.
Together with warm water, Airflow uses a separate instrument that removes biofilm and can reduce the time required for cleaning. It uses fine powder, air, and water to remove bacteria from the teeth, replacing traditional polishing in many cases.
The technique is based on Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), where a harmless colored dye marks bacteria on the teeth so the clinician can identify areas that need more attention.
Benefits include a more comfortable cleaning, more effective cleaning, reduced cleaning time, warm water use, and a fresh clean feeling after treatment.
The main downside is that slightly more water is used.
