Oral hygiene starts in childhood and proper brushing technique plays a primary role in dental health.

Oral hygiene starts in childhood, when the first teeth appear, and is an essential part of everyday life. Brushing frequency and correct technique play a primary role in dental health.

Place the toothbrush head against the teeth along the gum line at a 45-degree angle, pressing lightly so the bristles touch both the tooth surface and the gum edge.

Start from the outer side of the teeth with small gentle back-and-forth movements, covering only two or three teeth at a time.

Brush the inner side of the back teeth in the same way, then hold the toothbrush vertically behind the front teeth and make several up-and-down movements.

Brush the chewing surfaces with gentle small movements and do not forget the back side of the last molars.

Brush the surface of the tongue to remove bacteria and food debris that can cause unpleasant breath.

A complete brushing should last 2-3 minutes.

Flossing is important for effective cleaning between teeth where the toothbrush cannot reach. Interdental brushes can also be an effective alternative.

Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months to avoid gum trauma from worn bristles and prevent microbial buildup.

Proper brushing is necessary for good oral hygiene, but it does not replace regular dental visits, because prevention is the best treatment.
